portfolios
- alyssa schukar
- stories
- same distance, not up close, needed to be mixed up more
- background, cool angle
- depressing, most pictures are sad
- josh birnbaum
- stories
- don't like looking up the nose, boring, cropping, content, no emotion, no moment
- silly, humor, good up close
- nothing happened in any of the photos
- Carlos delgado
- photojournalism
- cluttered backgrounds, whats going on, hard to see whats what, showing nothing
- angles, some good content
- same thing over and over again
- angles, emotion, right where the action was, colors, every body in the image was involved
- some with weird angles, original, good portfolio
- they looked for good photos, interesting content, and a good flow of photos in the portfolio
individual images
I like the tennis photo that they voted first for the part 2. I like how simple it is and how it shows so much emotion and the colors
I didn't like the rugby photo in part 1 where the guy was poking his eye out.

Miller’s father, Ron Miller, explains. “ We make it our priority to do what’s best for the animals and the safety of our actors. We want our audience to be enjoying the show, our actors to have fun, and our animals to be happy while we’re performing. When that all happens the show is a good one. We strive to have an it happen every performance. It helps to have a good kid like Nat who keeps even our youngest members safe.”

This month's student of the month is… drum roll please… Nat Miller!
Last week Miller showed great courage by saving his 3 year old friend from a lion.
"I ran into the ring and I saw little Timmy running around while they were letting out of his cage. All I could think was that cute little Timmy was in danger. I jumped in front of the lion like I do in the shows and screamed in its face," Miller explained.
Timmy Tedder is the son of trapeze director of the circus, Frank Tedder, who was watching the whole episode from the trapeze ladder.
"I am so grateful to Nat for his quick thinking. I can't thank him enough," Tedder said.
"I am so grateful to Nat for his quick thinking. I can't thank him enough," Tedder said.
The school's award council decided to award this amazing act of courage with the student of the month medal.
"This isn't something that happens everyday. Its quite incredible," said Lilly Bud, president of the student council.

Timmy has been with the circus for all 3 years of his life and has been fascinated with the show animals.
When asked about the events of the day Timmy giggled, “Li-li is a big kitten. He is very funny.”

Miller, like Timmy, has been with the circus all his life and has been acting in it since he was 7.
“My favorite part of the circus is the animals, I’ve always felt connected to them. I usually work with our elephant, Susan, or the camels but lately I’ve been working with the cats. My first show where I worked with Li, the lion, was last summer.”

Miller explained that it’s a challenging to work with the carnivores. “If you wish to be a successful lion tamer you have to act dominate over the lion so that they respect you. Lions have a weird mindset. If they’re not hungry then they're very chill and lazy. But they still like to be the boss and so it’s tough and takes time to get a lion to respect you. Its scary at first especially for a kid like me who weighs a third of their weight. ”
Miller’s parents own the circus, which is one of the only certified animal friendly circuses. Miller’s father, Ron Miller, explains. “ We make it our priority to do what’s best for the animals and the safety of our actors. architecture shoot preview 2
details
this photo shows the details of run down building. It is a close up of the broken windows and weathered walls and shows all the little details of this window.
light
In this photo the light is sort of backlighting the buildings emphasizing the buildings' weird shape. the light is captured and gives the buildings a creepy but peaceful mood.
patterns
The repetition of the windows and the ceiling support boards create a cool pattern. these repeating lines give the building a rhythm that is pleasant to look at.
angles and shapes
the angles and shapes of this building are interestingly captured in this photo. the repetition of the rectangles and the cylinders are strangely juxtaposed and create a weird asymmetrical balance within the building.
surroundings
in this photo the ufo houses are shown with the surrounding sky and plane. this makes the buildings stick out from their natural background and makes them seem sort of isolated since there is nothing around them in the photo.

iPhone photo
1.
Shot by Austin M.
in Storidalur, Iceland
Panoramas aren’t always captured horizontally. Towering subjects like waterfalls and cliffs can be shot vertically for a stunning, surprising composition.

2. No these photos seem too good to be taken by just an iPhone camera
3. The other apps were probably just used for filters
4. A. Include sky. If there a photo of a landscape or portrait then including some sky makes the image more visually appealing.

guggenheim museum spain
1. architect: Frank Gehry
2. founded in 1997
3. Bilbao Basque Country Spain
4. Its a public museum and you can visit it
5. at least $1000000
6. to design something daring and innovative
7. I like this building since the weird curves and angles appear to be random but they all flow together and work. this building is fun to look at and there is another weird shape that pops out at you every time you look at it. I also like how the water reflects it and plays with the light .
the ufo house taiwan
1. Matti Suuronen
2. 1978
3.Taiwan
4. they were abandoned and demolished and transformed into a resort
5. they ran out of money before completed and were abandoned
6. The buildings were created as holiday homes for US officers. Roomer is that its haunted and built on a burial ground for dutch soldiers. also a lot of suicides and accidents resulting in deaths occurred during construction
7. I like the creepiness of these buildings. When I was first looking at the buildings I thought they were just weird looking pod things. but as I read more the creepy and eeriness of the buildings made them more interesting.

sensory overload
"I believe that more and more, we are defining our environments not as the spaces themselves, in terms of the buildings or architecture, but rather by the objects and devices that we buy and surround ourselves with. ... I would like that message to carry through universally," Seymour said.
I think this is true and that we are now defining ourselves and our spaces with the objects rather than the the the place itself. these photos were really hard to look at in terms of too much color and too much repetition. every thing clashed and there was to much stuff.
I would not want to visit this place since just by looking at the pictures i felt claustrophobic and cluttered.
I feel like you would have to be forced to get used to all the visual noise that is everywhere
I liked the one with all the buttons since it was the simplest
